Tyler's Farewell

We went down to LaVerkin again this weekend for Tyler's farewell. It was a great weekend. Tyler did such a great job on his talk in church!! I was very impressed with him and think that he will make a GREAT missionary. Listening to him and just being there made me start thinking of my own mission. What a great opportunity it is to serve. After we got home last night I got an email from a friend in Ireland that gave me an update on one of the girl's I helped to teach and baptize while I was there. What a great blessing to hear how well she is doing! This is such an amazing gospel....how lucky we are to have it in our lives.

While in Southern Utah we had a lot of fun watching the Farmer's Day parade, we went to Aryn's dance recital (which she did a great job at and Zaylee had a blast watching), and just had fun with family. Unfortunately, I didn't get any family pictures but I did get this cute one of Zaylee before we left for church on Sunday.

10 Months Old

I can't believe how fast she is growing! Zaylee just keeps getting bigger and brighter everyday. She is finally getting her first tooth (nothing to show by camera yet but you can feel the tooth breaking through), she is taking a few steps (only four at a time and it's a quick, quick, fall kinda walk but still), getting into everything, and finally, she LIKES people!! =) It's such a happy occasion! We took her to Alex's end of the year social for his doctorate program and she was the life of the party. She was letting a ton of different people hold her, smiling at everyone, and just putting on an overall show. It was fun. Speaking of which...I want to quickly tell everyone that they awarded scholarships for next year to 3 of the audiology students based on academic and clinical performance and Alex was awarded 1 of the top scholarships! YEA for him!! Back to Zaylee...at the party there was a huge dog (a mix between a German shepard and something else) that Zaylee loved playing with. She went right up to him and starting 'attacking' him. He was really good with her though and even let her tug his hair. Afterwards we went to a classmates house so they could work on a presentation and they have two little dogs (terriers) that loved licking Zaylee's face. She handled it really well and just kept pushing them away from her. Eventually she was sick of it and picked up a cd case and held it in front of her face to block the tongues! =) She's a smarty! I don't know her weight or her height but it seems she's getting bigger everyday. Enjoy the pics. (P.S. the pics of her in the car was when we were stopped yard selling--I promise when we took off she was in her car seat!! But if you have a sec click on the 1st pic of her in the car, her expression is GREAT!)

Zaylee and her Fisher Price Walker

I just had to show you how big Zaylee is getting! I stood her up next to the walker today just to see how she would do and well, see for yourself! In this particular shot that we got she had a Cheerio in her hand that she refused to let go of so it was a little bit more shaky for her than the previous goes. Before this she was crusing around the house with me only acting as the steering wheel. It was a blast! I hope you enjoy!

Tupperware cupboard

"Well, I found it...and can get into it!!" The only cupboard we have child-proofed so far is the cleaners cupboard so Zaylee was exploring today and found the cupboard where our bowls are. I provided her with the spoon but even before that was included in the picture she was having fun just pounding away at them!

Also, just a little note of her mischievous ways...Alex bought a bag of peanut M&M's today and had them on the living room table. Well, we were in making dinner and Zaylee had gone to the living room to play with her toys. She was being ultra quiet so I went in to check on her and she was standing up at the table watching "Deal or No Deal" with one hand in the bag of M&M's and the other up at her mouth about to put another one in. Yes, I did say another one. By the time I got there she had sucked off all of the chocolate and was working on gumming the peanuts of hopefully just the first one she had gotten! I guess we'll get to determine a little earlier than I had planned on if she has a nut allergy or not! Let's hope NOT! =)

Horses

Zaylee and I went on a walk to deliever primary cd's today and stopped by a lady's house in our ward who trains and shows horses. Well, she let me and Zaylee go into the barn and pet the horses and play with her dog. At first Zaylee was absolutely freaked out by the horses but when the lady started to feed them their horse cookies, Zaylee couldn't get enough of them. She didn't dare to touch them but was totally awed by them. Every time I would turn around she would try to get me to move out of her way so she could see them. She was bouncing in my arms and slapping my shoulder. She loved them! As for the dog, when we were leaving the barn she kept talking to her ("kiki! kiki!," "uh, uh"--you know just the normal baby language stuff) and then she finally got brave enough to let me set her down by the doggy while she petted her. It was a blast! I wish I would've had my camera!

More Easter Weekend Pics

9 Months old and Easter weekend

It was a busy week! We went down to LaVerkin and spent the week with family and had a blast. We had an afternoon playing at the park, Alex's brother went through the temple, and we were able to have an easter egg hunt with the family. Unfortunately, Zaylee got sick so we didn't end up doing nearly the amount of pictures that I was planning on but I did get a few. It was a huge bummer that she ended up getting sick but she seems to be feeling better now so at least we are grateful for that!

Also, she had her 9 month visit on St. Patty's day so I wanted to update you with her stats. She is 17.2 lbs (22%tile), 26.8 in (25%) and I think the nurse measured her head wrong but if not, her head circ. is 16.5 in (5%). The doctor said she looks like she is doing really good! She still doesn't have any teeth and he said it looks like she has a couple more months before they will poke through...but still, I'm okay with that! =) I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we do!

Havin' fun!

8 Months Old!

I'm 8 months old today!! I don't know how much I weigh or how tall I am but I'm growing as big as can be! I still don't have any teeth but mommy is okay with that! =) The shots above are just a few shots from me playing around the house today. I hope you like them!

If you didn't notice Zaylee has a nice red bump on the side of her head. Not only did she turn 8 months today but she rolled herself right off the bed for the first time. I caught her before she hit the floor but not before she hit the side of her head of the nightstand. It was very, very sad. But luckily not too much damage was done....just a little bump and a sad girl for about 5 minutes. She is a quick forgiver though and we still had fun for the rest of the day. We love you all!!

On the move!!

I just had to post these new pictures. Zaylee has been crawling now since the 3rd of February and she's getting into all sorts of trouble. She crawls to the nearest thing that she can pull herself up to and then walks along it to get to the next object that she wants to transfer over to so she can find trouble there. In the first picture she had worked her way across the coffee table, to the t.v., and finally landed at the movie stand pulling all the movies off. I picked her up, moved her far away, and so then she crawled over to the bookshelf to try to get Alex's books. I had put the car seat in front of it trying to keep her away but she just worked her way around that until she could reach up to get the books. She's a smart little girl!
