Zaylee's Birthday
Okay, so I know I've already told most of you about this, but we are going to celebrate Zaylee's birthday on Saturday, the 21st. I still don't know what time but it will be in our backyard and we will have cake and ice cream and maybe a little more--I haven't decided for sure yet. And horseshoes (if we get the horseshoe pit set up) and maybe kiddie pool swimming and the neighbors have a little kids play castle with a little slide in it to play with. I will give more details as I decide them, but I wanted to let everyone know (that I haven't told before) just so you know that you are invited. I'm really bad about calling and inviting people so here you go...YOU ARE INVITED!! That is your official invitation. (As long as you are not just some random stranger that managed to happen upon my blog and are reading this....if you are, you are NOT invited, sorry!!) =) Call or email me if you have any questions about where we live or anything.

Quick Update

SHE'S SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!! Yes, it's a miracle. Nearly a year after she was born she is finally learning that sleep is a good thing and so she is sleeping through the entire night. I didn't want to jinx myself so I waited for a week to post this to see if it was the real thing and it is!!! (Well at least for the most part....2 of the nights she woke up just one time each night but she put herself back to sleep one of those times so they still count.) She goes to bed about 8:30 and sleeps until about 7. It's FANTASTIC! I forgot how much I LOVE sleep!! =)
The picture is just for fun. Alex and Zaylee were out playing with the peonies and he got this cute picture of her.
Gettin' some teeth!!!

What a little booger!!

You'll never guess what Zaylee did to me last night! One clue....teeth! Okay, so she's had her two little teeth for about a month now and she's a biter! She always will come up and bite my leg, my arm, my shoulder, and even my nose. Well, last night before bedtime, she tried a new place to bite. I won't go into details, but I bet you can guess (hint: I am still nursing at nighttimes). OUCH!! So, of course, I chastised her and because it was WAY past her bedtime at that point (we had had a busy night with meetings and babysitting) she just freaked out and started screaming and then, yep you guessed it, bit me again!! Leaving teeth marks both times!! She was going for the third time when I decided that was way enough! She ended up with a bottle before bed and seemed fine with that. This may have been her last straw....she was being weaned anyway, but she may have just finished it for herself!!
As for the picture, Zaylee has learned the "all gone" pose. She doesn't say anything beside "OOHH" when things are gone but she has the arm motion down great! It's so funny to watch. It's times like these that make you forgive for the times above. (The picture is not the best--she can do it a lot cuter--but its the best I could get her to do on demand in the morning when really all she wanted to do was get down to play.)

Zaylee is 11 months!!

Oh my goodness how time flies!! I can't believe that this time last year I only had one month to go. Man was my belly sticking out then! (Unfortunately, I still have a little bit of that chubb left, URGH!!) This month has been busy for Zaylee. She got her first 2 teeth, learned how to walk, figured out how to stand up by herself in the middle of the room (without something to help her), went geocaching for the first time, and is finally down to waking up only once and sometimes twice a night! (I really wish that I could add potty-trained at this point but I know that that is a LONG shot--and no, I haven't been trying to, I am just sick of the diapers already!) =)
Here's a couple of pictures of her today to stick with tradition of a monthly photo. I didn't really get any good shots but here is a couple that I took. The first one is by the ivy and lilac trees in our backyard and the second is her riding in our neighbors barbie car. She loved being pushed around and getting to steer the car herself--it didn't work very well, but she sured tried!

She's a walker!
After a month of practicing, she finally getting it down pretty darn good. Check it out for yourself.
Going down the slide
Zaylee has liked going down the slide since she first went at Easter but we got this video a few weeks ago that I thought I'd share.
